It’s almost ready, but I wanted to announce it to you before I sent it out into the world.
For the last few months, I’ve been working on launching what I’m calling an “author services firm.” Basically, we want to help authors, writers, and creators get their ideas into the world, helping them through things like cover design, editing, and marketing, all while giving them the full control and guidance self-pubbed authors want.
We won’t take royalties from anything we publish, and our prices will be competitive.
This is a big step for me, as someone who’s only started writing a short time ago. However, I believe that we’re on the cusp of something big: the massive change in the music industry in the early 2,000s was a precursor to the breakthrough changes we’re experiencing in the publishing industry.
I tell people that while I can’t really teach them to be better writers (I have books, modules, and tips that have helped me, but I take no credit for their development and creation), I can teach them how to market and sell their books. Things will change, but two things that will always stay the same are:
- Great books need to be written in order to succeed.
- You need to get those great books into the hands (or in front of the eyes) of readers.
If you forget one, the other probably won’t work on its own.
Turtleshell Press is here to help with one or both of these things.
I don’t want to make this a huge sales pitch so I’ll just leave it at this:
Before we “officially” launch, we’re offering a free download of the new book, The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Self-Publishing.
To get it, just visit the Turtleshell Press website and sign up for the mailing list. It’s a no-hype, no-spam list that we’ll use just for big announcements and stuff, but you can always just unsubscribe anyway.
The book isn’t finished yet, but if you get on the list we’ll send it out before it goes to print!
Finally, in the comments section let me know what kinds of things you’d like to see from Turtleshell Press over the coming months — we’re changing and growing rapidly, and we want to stay ahead of the curve as much as possible!
